The WeForest Copperbelt Project took part in the International Day of Forests celebrations, which had the theme Forests and Economies. Speeches focused on the need for sustainable forest management and careful use of forest products to avoid putting too much pressure on forest resources.

WeForest supported students from Misongwe Secondary School to plant trees, which also made them eligible to apply for school and solar equipment as part of Absa Bank’s Plant a Million Trees campaign. The Imanda Community Forest management Group also actively participated in the celebrations, which were graced by the presence of Senior Chief Ndubeni.
